Al-Aqiq Governorate
Al-Aqiq Governorate is one of the most important and prominent governorates of Al-Baha Province due to its geographical location. It links Al-Baha City with the various governorates of the Province. It also serves as a meeting point for Al-Baha Province and neighboring provinces as Riyadh, Asir, and Makkah Al-Mukarramah. It is the aerial gateway to Al-Baha Province as King Saud bin Abdulaziz Airport is situated therein in Al-Baha. With its valleys, nature, moderate climate, progress, and development, it surpasses the other governorates of Al-Baha Province appearing each year in a new guise. This is thanks, first and foremost, to Allah, the Almighty, and then to the care and attention provided by our wise government under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highness Emir of Al-Baha Province HRH Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud. Al-Aqiq Governorate is a distinctive tourist destination for equestrian enthusiasts, camping lovers and those seeking an authentic Bedouin experience. It has further tourist attractions such as valleys, farms, and heritage sites. Therefore, we decided to develop a guide shedding light on Al-Aqiq Governorate, all its centers, government departments and the most prominent landmarks, historical sites and recreational areas therein. It is intended to provide a valuable resource for visitors to Al-Baha Province in general, and Al-Aqiq Governorate in particular. Through this guide, we look forward to satisfying the aspirations of visitors to the Province. Location:
Al-Hajrah Governorate is situated at the northwest of Al-Baha Province, within the Tihamah area, specifically in its western area. It constitutes a significant strategic and tourist location, serving as a link between Sarat and Tihamah on one hand, and between Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Baha provinces on the other hand. It derives its name from the renowned Wadi Al-Hajrah (Al-Hajrah Valley), which passes through Al-Hajrah Governorate from north to south.

Jarab Center |
It was inaugurated in 1392 A.H.. It is the eastern gateway to Al-Aqiq Governorate from the direction of Asir and Makkah Al-Mukarramah Provinces. It is home to (6) tribes and has a population exceeding twenty thousand people. It boasts historical landmarks predating the ancient trade routes and Wadi Jarab Dam.

Kara Al-Hayat Center |
It is the western gateway to Al-Aqiq Governorate. It possesses military cities. It is linked to Makkah Al-Mukarramah via Turubah. It has urban development, housing and municipal projects, government security and service offices, as well as all amenities. |
Warakh Center |
The center is administratively affiliated with Al-Aqiq Governorate. It includes several villages and is connected to Makkah Al-Mukarramah through Al-Khayala Center. It is also linked to Mashooqa Center of Al-Qura Governorate. It has security and service government departments as well as all amenities. |
Al-Jawah Center |
It is situated in Jarab Center of Al-Aqiq Governorate. It is a park surrounded by lush greenery. The center is administratively affiliated with Al-Aqiq Governorate. It includes several villages. It is bordered to the east by Asir Province, Gaabah Center. It is linked to Jared Center of Baljurashi Governorate. It further has security and service government departments as well as all amenities. |
Al Baaethah Center |
The center is administratively affiliated with Al-Aqiq Governorate. It is linked to Makkah Al-Mukarrama via Turubah. It is situated on the road linking the southern province to the western and central provinces. It has government security and service departments as well as all amenities. |
Bahr Center |
The center is administratively affiliated with Al-Aqiq Governorate. It encompasses Al-Shurouq district along with all amenities. The Technical College for Boys is situated therein. It serves as the region's gateway from the direction of the Eastern Province. It is located on the road linking the governorate to the province. |
Al-Aqiq Governorate Borders:
Al-Aqiq Governorate is bordered to the southeast by Asir Province and to the northwest by Makkah Al-Mukarramah Province. The remaining sides of Al-Aqiq Governorate form its own borders.
Area:
The area of Al-Aqiq Governorate is approximately 3,672.93 km2 constituting the total area of the governorate and its administrative centers.
Climate:
Mild, rainy winters, and the region's climate has recently shifted, with mountainous areas experiencing increasingly foggy, wet conditions.
Population:
The population of Al-Aqiq Governorate and its centers is approximately (45,836) forty-five thousand people.
Valleys and Dams:
Wadi Al-Aqiq Dam |
It is located south of Al-Aqiq Governorate. It is considered the largest dam in the province. It holds vast reserves of water supplying the upper areas. This makes the dam a popular tourist destination.

It is located in the southeast of Al-Aqiq Governorate and is considered a tourist attraction nestled in stunning pockets of green enclaves.
